Sasha’s Support Hawaiʻi
- Connecting Hawaiʻi and Japan -

Sasha’s Art Concept

Hawaiʻi’s land, ʻĀina, continues to breathe quietly connecting ocean and mountain, plants and people, past and future.
This exhibition is rooted in the Hawaiian value of “Mālama ʻĀina” to care for, protect, and live in harmony with the land.
Through native plants, life of the ocean, and the stillness of the mountains, the works depict the cycles and prayers carried by the islands.
Each original piece is a record of reverence and gratitude toward nature.
They reflect the beauty of Hawaiʻi, as well as the Hawaiʻi of today seen through Sasha’s eyes, living and breathing in the present moment.
To welcome a piece of artworks to welcome a story of Hawaiʻi into your everyday life.
Through this exhibition, we hope you feel the gentle breath of the islands

Sasha
Artist | Visual Storyteller

Sasha is a Hawaiʻi-based artist.
Raised primarily in Hawaiʻi while moving between Japan, the United States, and Hawaiʻi from an early age, she developed her sensibility at the intersection of multiple cultures and values.
Her artistic practice is rooted in the natural environment and culture of Hawaiʻi, guided by the philosophy of “Mālama ʻĀina” to care for the land and live in harmony with it.
Through painting, design, and mural work, she explores a wide range of visuals and expressions.
Her work draws inspiration from Hawaiʻi’s native plants, ocean life, and the subtle presence of mountains and land.
Rather than depicting landscapes as scenery, she seeks to express the cycles of nature, its quiet stillness, and a sense of prayer through color and line.
Each original artwork is a record of reverence and gratitude toward nature, and a reflection of the world that lies beyond her gaze—shaped by the living Hawaiʻi of today.
Sasha studied fine art at the University of Hawaiʻi, Leeward Community College(LCC), where she also participated in large-scale mural projects and gained experience creating art in public spaces.
Alongside her artistic practice, she has worked as an interviewer and reporter, sharing Hawaiʻi’s culture and the voices of its people both locally and internationally.
She is also the founder of Sasha’s Support Hawaii, an ongoing initiative dedicated to supporting Hawaiʻi-based small businesses, artists, and local communities.
Believing that art is not something merely to be displayed, but something that breathes alongside everyday life, she hopes her work will quietly accompany people in their daily moments.

Sasha’s Support Hawaiʻi
- Connecting Hawaiʻi and Japan -

Since 2019, I have been leading and continuing Support Hawaiʻi—an initiative to support small businesses, designers, and artists in Hawaiʻi - as a way to give back to both my beloved Hawaiʻi and Japan.

In 2020, after the COVID-19 state of emergency was declared, Hawaiʻi suffered a severe economic blow. In Honolulu alone, more than 900 stores were forced to close or suspend operations. Seeing the surge in unemployment and the relentless spread of the virus, I found myself asking, “Isn’t there something I can do? Even if it’s just a small effort, I want to help the people living in Hawaiʻi. ”

With that thought, I launched “Sasha’s Support Hawaiʻi” , a project to introduce and deliver original items born from Hawaiʻi’s unique culture to people in Japan.

Through this project, we have introduced and supported the sale of many ʻOhana-brand, Made in Hawaiʻi products, and have provided donations and support to cultural and educational organizations. This has only been possible thanks to the heartfelt support, purchases, and encouragement from so many people in Japan. I am truly grateful. This project has become a core part of my philosophy and continues to this day. Although my resources are limited, I am committed to continuing long-term support and assistance for those affected by the Maui wildfire disaster.

At the heart of this project is my wish to help Japanese friends feel connected to Hawaiʻi while uplifting local Hawaiian businesses and artists. Through Support Hawaiʻi, I hope everyone who loves Hawaiʻi can live each day surrounded by the warmth of the Aloha Spirit. I would be so happy if you continue to watch over and support Sasha’s Support Hawaiʻi.

Mahalo!

Sasha’s Profile: Artist, Reporter, Interviewer

Born to an American father and a Japanese mother from the Kansai region, Sasha is bilingual and bicultural. From childhood, she traveled frequently between the U.S., Hawaiʻi, and Japan with her family. She attended high school in Kahuku, Hawaiʻi, majoring in fine arts. Later, as a student at Leeward Community College (LCC) in Hawaiʻi, she created a mural for her alma mater and deepened her artistic practice. Today, while developing her own artwork, Sasha also continues to create pieces inspired by the beauty of Hawaiʻi.
